Effective teams embrace conflict

Conflict is often something that people try to avoid, but the most effective teams embrace it.  In those teams, people constructively speak their minds to share their ideas, listen with intent to understand, challenge each other (and the status quo) and have rich relationships, high on trust.

A different style of listening

This 4 hour workshop helps people develop ways of communicating with others that allow conflicting views, ideas and opinions to be expressed safely and encourages a different style of listening.  This way of working reduces the likelihood of avoidance of conflict and the potential for harmful interpersonal conflict.  It is recognised that embracing different perspectives enhances learning, collaboration and innovation, whilst avoiding them can lead to be deep seated issues that impact the team’s performance.

An interactive workshop

The workshop introduces new ideas, enables participants to try out ways of communicating in a safe space and provides tools (including a handbook) which can help the team develop a culture in which conflict is embraced.

Although this workshop has been designed with senior teams in mind, it has been delivered to cross-functional groups from all levels of the workforce.  It results in a series of personal commitments by delegates to individual and collective actions.

The workshop is delivered by Caroline Morris of Wide Eyed Group and Jane Ginnever of Shift
